A long time ago, we re-powered the small boat. Back then, we took the opportunity to sound insulate the engine room with this SoundTec special mylar/foam/vinyl stuff that lines the walls. We had an extra sheet left over that I insisted on saving through all of the residential moves and garage cleanings.
Twelve years later, it finally gets used (and this stuff ain't cheap).
